Liverpool fans are getting excited about the prospect of finally signing Nabil Fekir after the latest transfer news suggests another target deal is done.

During an international break every tiny piece of news is extrapolated to mean a thousand things more than it would in any other week. There is an interesting development with one rumored target that has some fans convinced Liverpool will be getting Nabil Fekir after all.

Liverpool have been linked to Brazilian forward Lucas Paqueta for six months now. The 21-year-old is seen by many as a natural successor to Roberto Firmino; a skillful, hard-working forward who can play the ‘false 9’ role in Jurgen Klopp’s system.

The latest news has the young forward linked to a January transfer to AC Milan with The Mirror journalist Dave Maddock reporting that the player is having a medical in Brazil.

He also states that there has been no genuine interest in the striker from Anfield despite reports to the contrary. The Brazilian has become one of the hottest young players to stir up the transfer speculation in recent months.

All that info combined has some Liverpool fans joining up the dots. The logic goes that the Reds are not in for a player they really *should* be considering because they already have another transfer deal lined; namely finally completing a move for Nabil Fekir from Lyon.

The proposed summer transfer of the Frenchman to Merseyside fell through at the last-minute after medical complications. He famously posed in a Liverpool shirt and held and interview with the club’s website before the plug was pulled – ranking this as one of the biggest transfer disasters in the club’s history.

Watching Fekir destroy Manchester City in the Champions League a few weeks ago only increased the longing in the Liverpool fanbase to see him take the Red shirt in January.

Watching the ebb of Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane this season has only fueled the desire of many fans to see an attacking addition in the next transfer window.
