Liverpool fans are going wild as starlet Harry Wilson has scored another beautiful free kick, this time for Wales against the Republic of Ireland.

Wilson scored the only goal of the game during the Nations League game against the Republic, and he did it in the most spectacular style. We can’t show you the video, but click through here to see him in full flow and to read about how Reds’ fans are going nuts.

The Derby loan man started behind 19-year-old central striker Tyler Roberts, who has scored three goals in six games for Leeds United, and played the full 90 minutes.

Observers of the starlet will be more used to seeing Wilson cut in from the right-hand flank, and this is where he’s been played more often than not. This new role for Wales could hint at a developing versatility and maturity in the 21-year-old.

Rams manager Frank Lampard has also opted to use the youngster on the left, and has been rewarded with one goal in seven appearances.

Despite a slow start to the season, Wilson has now started three out of the last four Championship games for Derby – and that’s encouraging, especially because he missed the match day squad for five matches in a row early in the season.

After that free kick against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup and now with this latest strike, the footballing world is going to start to sit up and take notice of the Liverpool starlet.

It’ll be tough to break into the first team, but the attacker was handed a five-year deal shortly before his loan move and is clearly rated by manager Jurgen Klopp.

With potential injuries to Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, the game against Huddersfield on Saturday is potentially one that Wilson would have started in – if he was around Merseyside.

But regular first team football is what the youngster needs to get better and push for a place in the side. But if he carries on scoring goals like that, Liverpool may have to fight to keep him at Anfield.
