Liverpool may have totally given up on the idea of signing Nabil Fekir after reports of a move for £58 million goal machine Lorenzo Insigne emerge.
Fresh from a 1-0 win over Huddersfield and continuing questions about the productivity of the forward line comes new rumors of a Liverpool transfer. The Reds are keen on Napoli striker Lorenzo Insigne according to reports from Italy.
Insigne has seven goals in ten appearances in Serie A and the Champions League. He would come in as an option for the center forward position currently held by Roberto Firmino.

The forward is rated at £58 million by transfermarkt.co.uk but is likely to command nearer to £70-80 million in the current transfer market. January purchases often come at a premium – Philippe Coutinho can testify to that.
At the moment this rumor is in the “interested/keen on” phase of the rumor cycle. The club have not yet “sent scouts” or are “monitoring the situation”. We are long way from “tabling an offer”. We know how this game is played.
The validity of the speculation is yet to be determined but it is more indication that Liverpool will be true to their word by not returning for Nabil Fekir in the transfer window.
Bayern Munich are the latest European giant to look long and hard at the Frenchman. They are scouting the Lyon midfielder heavily and are hoping to make a signing or two this winter that will kick-start their Bundesliga campaign; they are currently fourth behind Dortmund, Mönchengladbach and Werder Bremen.
The Reds are unbeaten in the Premier League this season and have only dropped points to rivals Man City and Chelsea. That has been achieved off a historic defensive display to begin a season but Liverpool trail City due to goal difference.
Unless the forwards can click soon there will be calls for the Reds to sign a new attacker this winter. Lorenzo Insigne is exactly the kind of player that the fans would love to see in front of the Kop.
