Ovie Ejaria and Ryan Kent impress as Rangers take on Spartak Moscow

Liverpool loanees Ovie Ejaria and Ryan Kent impressed Rangers fans as manager Steven Gerrard oversaw their 0-0 draw with Spartak Moscow in the Europa League.

Ejaria and Kent are both in Glasgow on season-long loans and have been handed plenty of opportunity by Gerrard. Both youngsters have made eight Scottish Premier League appearances and been key men in the Gers European campaign.

Rangers are home to four ex-Reds as Jon Flanagan is currently attempting to rebuild his career north of the border while living legend Gerrard is making the most of his first spell in senior management.

After two frustrating a fruitless temporary moves last season, Kent appears to be making the most of this season and already has three league goals under his belt – while WhoScored.com rating the winger as Rangers’ best player on Thursday night.

Ejaria is building on his time with Sunderland during 2017/2018 and has begun the season as a key member of the squad.

Previously Gerrard had backed the youngster to excite Ibrox crowds, and while the 20-year-old couldn’t unlock the Spartak defence, Rangers fans have seen enough quality so far to get excited about Ejaria.

When talking about the Liverpool starlet, the Herald Scotland reported that Gerrard said: “He’s an exciting player, very skilful. He’ll have the crowd on the edge of their seats.”

Competition for places in the Liverpool squad is intense enough without the loan stars involvement, and it’ll be tough for any of the youngsters placed around the globe to come back to Anfield and secure a place in the side.

Ejaria is battling Marko Grujic and perhaps even Harry Wilson for a midfield role from 2019, while Kent has a tough task ahead of him to leapfrog Ben Woodburn and Wilson as the young winger that puts pressure on Jurgen Klopp.

Back to the Reds, who take on Cardiff City on Saturday. Keep an eye on Fabinho, who may get a chance to build on his good work against Red Star Belgrade as Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita could miss out due to injury.
