Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has given fans some encouragement after revealing the latest injury updates ahead of the clash with Red Star Belgrade.

Liverpool appear to be nearing the end of their mini injury crisis in midfield as more good news comes forth. Jurgen Klopp shared injury updates on a couple of key Liverpool players today in his pre-match press conference.

The Reds are in Serbia ahead of their Champions League group match with Red Star Belgrade. Addressing British and Serbian media he answered a host of questions – many about the decision to leave Xherdan Shaqiri in Liverpool.

He was also asked about the fitness of Naby Keita who has returned to first team training and is available for tomorrow’s game. The manager said he was already at 100% training before the Arsenal game but now he can be considered for inclusion.

Klopp also hedged the question by saying a decision has yet to be made about Keita. However he also offered an update on Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson.

The German boss expects Henderson to be training with the squad they return from the tie with Red Star. That will mean all Klopp’s midfield options will be ready in the next week or so. Only long-term absentee Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will remain unavailable.

Liverpool have two very winnable Premier League games coming up against Fulham and away to Watford. Then they will have the final two Champions League group games with PSG and Napoli.

A full complement of midfielders will allow for some rotation. Gini Wijnaldum and James Milner have put in a heavy amount of minutes this season and Henderson and Keita will provide some respite for the duo.

A win tonight will keep the Reds top of the group and in command of qualification for the knockout stages.
