Liverpool duo Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson have been named in the WhoScored.com Premier League team of the week.

Alexander-Arnold and Robertson scored highly for their performance against Fulham on Remembrance Sunday as they helped the Reds to another clean sheet.

Jurgen Klopp will have been pleased with how his full-backs played as they both registered an assist as Liverpool beat the Cottagers 2-0 at Anfield.

Right-back Alexander-Arnold sparked the excellent counter-attack that ended with Mohamed Salah scoring the first goal, while left-back Robertson’s first time cross set up Xherdan Shaqiri’s delicious volley for the second.

WhoScored rated TAA at a 7.7, while his defensive partner romped home with an 8.0 – his best performance of the season.

Alongside the Liverpool pair were several players from relegation threatened teams in a reminder that the Premier League retains its competitive nature even if the top six teams are sprinting away from the rest of the pack.

Brighton defender Lewis Dunk, Southampton man Manolo Gabbiadini, Huddersfield Town forward Steve Mounie and Newcastle United striker Salomon Rondon all made the weekly best XI as their teams picked up vital points.

Robertson and Alexander-Arnold have emerged as Klopp’s first-choice pairing after brushing off competition from Alberto Moreno and Nathaniel Clyne.

Even when TAA has been rotated, Joe Gomez has stepped in at right-back in an indication that Clyne needs to do a lot more work to force his way into the starting XI.

Moreno appears to be on his way out of the club and has only played once in the league this season. The error-prone Spaniard’s departure won’t shed too many tears on the terraces, although it’ll be faintly annoying if he’s snagged on a free.
