22-year-old Liverpool player faces struggle to reclaim place in side
By David Gate
Liverpool player Ryan Kent faces a tough fight to reclaim his place in the Rangers first team as he returns from injury on his loan spell in Scotland.
If you are keeping an eye on Liverpool on-loan players or on the managerial career of former Reds-captain Steven Gerrard then you will be keenly watching the situation with Ryan Kent in Scotland.
The 22-year-old winger had a blistering start to the season; finally showing some of the product his talent has long promised. However a hamstring injury has seen him take a spell on the sidelines and curtailed his promising season.

Gerrard said this week he does not know when Ryan Kent will return to first team action. That is not a good sign for the Liverpool man. In his absence there has been more than adequate back up from Glenn Middleton, Eros Grezda and Daniel Candeias; all three have scored during the last two Scottish Premiership fixtures.
Kent desperately needs a successful season at Ibrox to give his Anfield future any hope. The 2016-17 season saw him have a solid – if somewhat unspectacular – loan spell at Barnsley during Jurgen Klopp’s first full season at Anfield.
Last year was marked by frustration as a loan move to SC Freiburg in the Bundesliga was disappointing with only six starts and no goals. That loan was cut short in January for him to move to Bristol City.
Again he experienced frustration as he only made 10 starts for the south-west club and failed to find the ,score sheet.
He has three goals in the league this year which equals his best ever season. He will need a lot of hard work and some good fortune to push his way back into a regular starting role again once he has fully recovered from the hamstring injury.
