Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has proven what a top bloke he is after Egypt beat Tunisia 3-2 in their African Cup of Nations Qualification game.

Salah responded to a tweet that pictured a little Egyptian girl holding a sign, imploring the forward to score so she could leave the game, go home and finish her homework.

The Reds star hit the back of the net to hand his country a dramatic, last minute win as Trezeguet and Baher El Mohamady also scored for the Pharaohs.

And despite the extract of a last minute goal, he still managed to tweet his apologies to who he thought was the girl in the photo and added that he hoped her teacher would understand the situation.

Just to see the star on the field for his country should be an achievement, especially with the politicizing of the Liverpool man over the World Cup and beyond. Back in June, CCN reported that Salah was thinking about quitting the national side over the bizarre Chechnya incident.

But here he was, Egypt’s best player, scoring a last minute goal to send the country into raptures and everyone hanging off the edge of their seats.

Liverpool get back into action on the 25th as they travel down to London to face Watford, and Jurgen Klopp will be hoping to avoid the injury farce that plagued the club’s return to domestic football after the last international break.

Sadio Mane, Salah, Naby Keita and others all came back crocked as the Reds lost momentum and their attack failed to find it’s normal vim and vigor.

In other international news, Dejan Lovren played the full 90 minutes as Croatia managed to beat Spain 3-2 thanks to a dramatic goal. Trent Alexander-Arnold scored his first goal for England in their routine 3-0 victory against the USA, while Dominic Solanke netted twice for the Three Lions’ U21 side.
