New details have emerged of the Philippe Coutinho deal from Liverpool to Barcelona and fans are in awe of Michael Edwards and his skills.
The legend of Michael Edwards continues to grow. The Liverpool Sporting Director is the senior figure at the club dealing with transfers; negotiating terms for incoming and outgoing players.
While many have praised his recruitment in the last two seasons it is an outgoing deal that is causing the latest wave of praise for Edwards.

As details emerge of the Philippe Coutinho transfer to Barcelona there is new information that is putting that transfer in even more favorable light for Liverpool.
The £142 million deal is the third largest transfer of all-time and the Reds got a massive premium for their star player. However it was a continuation of a worrying trend for fans of their best players being poached by Barcelona.
Coutinho followed Luis Suarez and Javier Mascherano to the Nou Camp; all three of those deals weakening the squad at Anfield.
In order to halt that trend and prevent further swoop from Barcelona, Michael Edwards added a clause that Barcelona would have to pay and additional €100 million (£89 million) above any agreed fee for a Liverpool player until the end of 2020.
That essentially safeguards Liverpool for a move for their star forwards. Roberto Firmino has been tentatively linked to a Barca move but their has also been interest in Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. That would now appear impossible until 2021.
It does make you question the possibility of Liverpool waiving that clause if Barcelona were to move for Alberto Moreno. The Spanish left back is apparently on a list of targets to bolster their defense.
In that event it is hard to see Edwards insisting on an £89 million fee for the squad player. If he could pull of THAT deal then he would need a statue and a stand named after him.
