It’s been a busy day for Liverpool as they’ve announced a double deal for Sadio Mane and Thomas Gronnemark.
Star forward Mane has penned a new long-term deal, as per the club, while the BBC has reported that throw-in coach Gronnemark will be kept around until June 2019.
While fans are pleased with the Senegal international penning a new deal, the one for Gronnemark is a bit of a left-field one.
Not because the Dane hasn’t done a good job – more because few would have even realized that a throw-in coach was a job at the top flight team.

Liverpool are happy with his work, said the report, and recognize that Gronnemark has improved this aspect of the team’s game. Early results can be seen with Joe Gomez’s long throw assist to Jesse Lingard as England beat Croatia.
“The extension documents Liverpool’s satisfaction with my work and the fact that they recognise and acknowledge the results we’ve achieved with the players,” he said.
While the coach can help the Reds find small gains from their game, Mane has been able to influence them in a much more overt fashion.
The forward scooped two awards after the 2016-2017 season as he was named Players’ Player of the Year as well as Player of the Year – while he hit the back of the net 20 times in all competitions last campaign.
And talking to the Liverpool media team, Mane enthused that he’d made an amazing decision and that he thinks the side can go far and win trophies.
The Reds take on Watford in the Premier League next, and the forward will be tasked with helping kick off the next phase of the season.
Mane is bound to start alongside this brothers-in-arms Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah as they try and replicate the success of last season. With Xherdan Shaqiri in such fine form, there is no reason why Jurgen Klopp can blow the Hornets out of the water.
