The Academy graduate who could have an impact after January
Liverpool youngster Adam Lewis is the one Academy graduate who could have an impact in the side after January.
The Reds have got something nice chugging away at Melwood. In the background we have several youngsters developing into good players. You know, the sort who could challenge for first team places in the next few years.
Bobby Duncan in banging them in for fun and has attracted the interest of several leading European clubs, while Curtis Jones is highly rated by the Anfield hierarchy.
And for those excited to see the next local lad ‘do a Trent’ and star for the first team, well, that lad may already be here.

Because Lewis could make an impact in January or just after. Alberto Moreno is a dead cert to quit the club when his contract expires, and it would make far more sense for Liverpool to sell Moreno in January rather than lose him for nothing in the summer.
And if they do that, Jurgen Klopp will need a replacement. Sure, he could go looking around Europe for a replacement and some first-team ready players have been linked with the club.
But, those signings would want first team football – and that’s not something Klopp could offer right away. That statement is especially true if Andrew Robertson keeps up his excellent form – form that’s seen Moreno only play one league game all season.
This is where Lewis would step in. The youngster could be involved in plenty of match-day squads, train regularly with Klopp and the first team lads, learn from a great bunch of players and gain value experience if Robertson is rested.
There may be an element of risk if Robbo drops out injured for a long time, but if they’re good enough they’re old enough and Klopp has never been scared of chucking a youngin’ in at the deep end.
Left-back is the one position crying out for an Academy lad to fill the gap, even if it’s until the summer. Lewis is the man who can do that.
