Liverpool are facing a true test this Wednesday, it is no easy task to defeat PSG in Paris.

However, the Reds found their way to a contentious 3-2 victory over the Parisians at Anfield earlier this year.

This game is vital for Liverpool because a win, however unlikely it may be, nearly guarantees advancement to the next round of the CL.

This brings up the question of the best possible lineup that is well suited and equipped to take on the dynamic oil-rich squad.

The starting XI, no doubt, must have a good balance and most importantly a more dynamic midfield.

Therefore, a reasonable alignment is to have Allison at goalkeeper, with a back line of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil Van Dijk, and Andy Robertson.

The midfield is by far the trickiest position to line up, but Jordan Henderson most likely will be included.

He provides a vital defensive stability and his red card likely means he will be in there, due to his being unavailable against Everton on December 2.

Thus a likely midfield would be Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum, and Xherdan Shaqiri. This provides a nice balance, as the back two can be the stable defensive portion and Shaqiri can have the offensive impact.

The front three must, of course, remain the same because they are by far the most talented at those positions in the club.

Both Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino ended up putting the ball beyond the keeper in Saturday’s match versus Watford, hopefully, they can build off of that.

Sadio Mané was also impactful, as he nearly scored himself and was responsible for setting up Salah’s goal.

If the front line is clicking like this, they can provide a force that may provide issues for PSG.

It is rumoured that Neymar and Kylian Mbappe might both return for this match, but that is uncertain at this juncture.

It will not be an easy game either way, thus Liverpool cannot afford to be off their game in any way.

If Klopp’s men can replicate, in any way, the effort at Anfield, this match might have the desired result. That game was dominated by Liverpool, but PSG’s natural talent made it that close.

It will not be as simple in Paris, though, so Liverpool must capitalize on chances and generate offence because their opponents certainly will.
