Liverpool are still interested in the transfer of Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund and there is a way they may only need to spend £32 million to make it happen.

This is perhaps the most persistent transfer rumor around Liverpool Football Club. The Reds are maintaining their interest in signing Borussia Dortmund forward Christian Pulisic. While the fees being quoted in the media are around the £70 million mark there is a way Liverpool could make the deal happen with an outlay of only £32 million.

The Reds are facing hot competition for the American star from a handful of top European clubs. At the front of the battle is Chelsea who appear to be the most ready to stump up the £75m to get Dortmund to the table.

Most observers believe Liverpool are not going to spend that kind of money in January and will instead be hoping he remains in Dortmund until the summer.

It is at that point that Liverpool could move armed with a chunk of cash from other deals. They are guaranteed £18 million from the sale of Danny Ings to Southampton. The striker is currently on loan at the Saints but there is an agreement to make the move permanent in July 2019.

That cash can be added to the expected £20 million Liverpool are expected to make from the sale of Divock Origi. The forgotten man at Anfield has yet to feature on the pitch this season and is firmly behind Daniel Sturridge to back up Roberto Firmino.

Jurgen Klopp favorites Dominic Solanke and Rhian Brewster are also on the rise making a future at Anfield virtually impossible for the Belgian.

The funds from those sales could be funneled immediately to the purchase of Christian Pulisic meaning FSG would only have to reach into their pockets to the tune of £32 million to sign one of the best talents in world football.

Despite locking down Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah to long-term deals there remains the expectation that Liverpool will add another big transfer forward in the next year.
