Liverpool fans are beside themselves with laughter at the latest Everton conspiracy theory posted by one Toffee on Youtube.
If you pay any attention to Everton fans – and, by God, they want to have your attention – you will be familiar with their particularly brand of bitter insanity surrounding Liverpool Football Club.

It wasn’t just the timing of the goal – that alone is enough to send them crazy. But it was the manner in which the goal came about.
A poorly hit volley from Virgil van Dijk looked to be heading out of play before spinning down to land on top of the crossbar. Jordan Pickford then inexplicably touches it back into play right into the path of Origi who headed in from one yard out.
There have been many shocking finishes Merseyside derbies in recent years but this one has spawned a conspiracy theory to relish.
Magnets. The ball was being controlled by magnets. Van dijk’s hit was drawn to the crossbar by magnets – presumably both in the ball and the goal frame. His main point is that the magnets control the spin of the ball.
He also refers to precedent for this manipulation – a game between FC Copenhagen and Club Brugge – you know, another HUGE game.
Many have commented that winning in this way is better than thrashing them. The whinging, the wining, the fume, the anger. All of that will keep you amused for weeks to come.
