Liverpool will host rivals Manchester United in the Premier League this week in a huge clash. Here are five reasons why the Reds will destroy Man Utd.

It’s the first fixture I look for when the Premier League schedule is released. Liverpool v Manchester United at Anfield is as big as it gets in a domestic season. The two most successful clubs in English history facing each other.

It has been a rare occurrence where Liverpool have been top of the table when the two have played. And even more rare that the Reds would be looking all the way down to the mid-table at Manchester United, at least in the Premier League era.

Of course Liverpool may be second in the table on Sunday afternoon if Manchester City beat Everton at lunchtime on Saturday. (You know the Bitter Blues want to lose). So a victory against Man Utd will mean the Reds will head into next week’s game against Wolves with the chance to be top at Christmas.

The matchups between these two sides under Jurgen Klopp and Jose Mourinho have been tight affairs: three draws and a loss for the Reds. However there is a greater gap in quality and form than in the last two years.

Liverpool will not simply beat Man Utd on Sunday; they will humiliate them. Crush their spirits and put them firmly where they belong in mid-table obscurity. The Reds have the better players, the better manager and (a thousand times over) the better fans.
