Fans from across the globe have reacted to Liverpool’s latest inspirational gesture as the club proves it properly cares about its supporters.
After a video of Mike Kearney celebrating Mohamed Salah’s winner against Napoli went viral, Salah decided to invite the partially sighted Red to Melwood.
Kearney could only celebrate after the strike was described to him by his cousin Stephan Garcia – and it was that moment which caught the eye and melted the hearts of everyone who saw it.
But now the good vibes are continuing as the fan was invited down to the Liverpool training ground to meet the man who helped spark it all off, as well as a few other Reds boys.

Kearney has been attending games for about five years, and Garcia describes every bit of action to him so the partially sighted man doesn’t miss a thing. Groans and cheers might give a guide as to what’s going on – but his cousin does an excellent job keeping Kearney in the loop.
This moment was just another example of a club and a set of players who genuinely seem to care about the supporters. It fosters an incredibly close bond that isn’t always found at Premier League grounds around the country.
Anfield has a reputation for it’s atmosphere, but when supporters and players know they’re all in it together it can take that ferocity to the next level. When times are good the fans get behind the team, and afford them more patience when things are a bit rocky.
Liverpool only play at home one more time in 2018 as they welcome Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle United on Boxing Day. Seeing Rafa come back is always a nice moment, but there will be no mercy on the pitch.
Before that, the Reds go to the Midlands to face Wolves as they look to continue their unbeaten run right up to Christmas.
