Heart warming news breaks about Joe Gomez

Heart warming news has just broken about Liverpool starlet Joe Gomez, who is currently fighting his way back from injury.

The Mirror has reported that Gomez popped the question to his long-term girlfriend Tamara Tia, and she said yes!

Tia broke the news on Instagram as she proudly showed off the engagement ring. The defender met his childhood love on the school bus – some BBM messages later and the rest is history.

Gomez is in recovery for a fractured leg he picked up against Burnley, and just as Tia helped him settle into Merseyside after the move from Charlton, you can imagine his fiancee is doing everything she can to keep the 21-year-old on track.

The Addicks sold the youngster for less than £5 million but it hasn’t been an easy ride for the England international. Gomez picked up a serious knee injury during the fledgling days of his Liverpool career and has only played 59 club games, but what an impact he’s had.

Jurgen Klopp clearly rates the 21-year-old, and he’ll be back in the side when he recovers from this latest setback.

The defender could be out until the end of January, but Liverpool are flying along without him. The Reds just smashed Arsenal 5-1 and still look defensively sound, even with Dejan Lovren at the back. Manchester City are up on Thursday and they’ll be a massive test.

This settled private life can often translate to better performances on the field, and Gomez is certainly capable of taking his game to the next level for Liverpool. Before that fracture, the former Charlton man was wowing all with his pace, composure on the ball and defensive abilities.
