Liverpool could find a transfer suitor for out-of-favor winger Lazar Markovic at Aston Villa if their fans get what they want.

Liverpool fans, would you take £4.5 million from Aston Villa for Lazar Markovic? You’ve probably already bitten the hand off! Villa fans are touting the Serbian winger as a potential January transfer to help their title push.

The Villains are seven points off the play-off spaces and a good run could see them leap into promotion contention. Funnily enough they are suggesting Markovic as an improvement on Everton’s on-loan winger Yannick Bolasie who has underwhelmed.

I can’t be sure if the writer has ever seen Markovic play or if they figured he cost £20 million from Benfica so he must be decent.

Weirdly they are highlighting his “professionalism” as a redeeming characteristic:

“Despite being isolated from the first-team, Markovic’s professionalism has been commended by the Liverpool staff”

I’m not sure anyone at Anfield is bowled over by the professional way the winger is conducting his career. His attitude on the pitch and training field has never impressed.

Perhaps they are referring to the fact he doesn’t complain in the press. That might have something to do with the £60k-a-week in wages we are shelling out to keep him at Melwood.

Lazar Markovic featured yesterday for the Liverpool Under-23’s in their 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion Under-23’s. He has not played for that side all season – the Reds would rather develop young players and, frankly, he isn’t good enough for that level.

The club is clearly putting him in the shop window for the January transfer window – hoping some desperate club will stump up some cash – anything really – to end his miserable time on Merseyside

Aston Villa you can be our guest; we’ll have him round Villa Park by tea time if you are dangling £4.5 million anywhere near Michael Edwards’ nose.
