Liverpool fans reminisce about their favorite Glen Johnson moment
Former Liverpool defender Glen Johnson has retired from football and Reds fans have been thinking about their favorite Jonno moment.
The right-back may have finished his Anfield time as a bit of a joke figure and picked up the unlucky name of John Glenson, but in his prime the former Chelsea man was quality.
And the goal he scored against the Blues has been picked out as one of Johnson’s best moments in a Liverpool top.
The former England international picked the ball up in the opposition’s final third, displayed a delicious first touch, cut inside Ashley Cole, stormed inside the penalty area and unleashed a pinpoint shot to beat Petr Cech at his far post.

Oh, and for good measure it left John Terry on his arse. Follow this link to see the goal in all its beauty.
That goal displayed the fine attacking instincts that saw the defender score 15 Premier League goals and make 29 others.
In 200 games for Liverpool, Johnson hit the back of the net nine times and registered 19 assists. The West Ham junior was also capped 54 times for England and played 484 career games.
After being released by Stoke City, the 34-year-old struggled to find another side and decided to call it a day.
In a statement, Johnson explained the reasons behind hanging up his boots and added that he realized the gig was up halfway through the 2017/2018 campaign. The right-back added that he was no longer able to play in a way that he wanted, which contributed to the retirement decision.
Johnson may have played 200 times for Liverpool, but fans will have high hopes that incumbent Trent Alexander-Arnold features way more than that.
Alexander-Arnold signed a new five-year deal in January and looks set to be the next local hero to captivate Anfield. The 20-year-old has already played 67 games for the Reds and is well positioned to equal Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard’s record.
