Liverpool loan watch: Liam Millar debuts and Ryan Kent impresses

Liverpool youngster Liam Millar made his debut for Kilmarnock and Ryan Kent continues to do well under Steven Gerrard.

Millar came off the bench to play the final 12 minutes of his team’s 2-1 defeat at the hands of Hearts, while Kent put in a man of the match performance for Rangers.

Gerrard’s outfit dismantled St. Mirren 4-0 and Kent played a massive role in that. The winger scored his fifth goal of the season to impress his gaffer, who praised his excellence throughout the campaign.

Nathaniel Clyne continues to prove his worth as a Premier League defender as he played the full 90 minutes against Cardiff City. Clyne couldn’t stop the Cherries from suffering an unexpected defeat at the hands of the Bluebirds, who won 2-0.

Derby County have been doing well under new manager Frank Lampard, and Harry Wilson has been showing Jurgen Klopp why he should be a first team option for Liverpool next season. But Wilson couldn’t prevent the Rams from drawing 0-0 against Preston North End.

Ovie Ejaria has been bounced around between clubs and is currently on his second loan spell this season. After beginning at Rangers, Ejaria is now at Reading. The Hoops earned a 0-0 draw against promotion chasing Aston Villa.

Doncaster Rovers are grateful to have Herbie Kane on board this season as the 20-year-old has featured heavily in his first spell away from the Reds. Kane has scored three and assisted four in 25 League One games, but couldn’t help Doncaster over the line as they drew 1-1 with Portsmouth.

In overseas action, Marko Grujic continued to develop at Hertha Berlin but failed to prevent his team from slipping to a 1-0 loss against Wolsburg. Grujic has now played 10 games for Berlin, and scored twice.

Nigerian forward Taiwo Awoniyi had spent the first half of the campaign with AA Gent, but was recalled from that spell and sent back to Royal Excel Mouscron. They like Awoniyi spent last season at Mouscron and they like him over there and the youngster played 77 minutes as his team beat Sporting Charleroi 3-0.

Finally Loris Karius wasn’t able to keep a clean sheet for Besiktas, but it didn’t matter as they thumped Antalyaspor 6-2.
