Liverpool welcome Bournemouth to Anfield on Saturday and playmaker Adam Lallana has a message for the home fans.

The Reds will be keen to bounce back from two disappointing draws and end talk about bottling the Premier League title race with a win against the Cherries.

Jurgen Klopp’s men will be playing in front of a bouncing Anfield crowd – and Lallana has this message for those fans attending the game.

In a video posted on Twitter by the official club account, the ex-Southampton man talked about how he wants the Cherries to feel ‘intimidated’ by the gathered Scousers.

Lallana went on to say that it makes a big difference to the players if the fans are behind them, even during the warm up – and that he’s got no doubt Liverpool supporters will make that happen.

It can be tough to support a side through thick and thin. To remain positive when things aren’t going your way. To praise and understand instead of grumble and moan. And that definitely plays it’s part as well.

The fact is, Liverpool are close to a historic title win and the players need as much backing from the fans as possible – which is why Lallana spoke so highly of the ‘intimidating’ atmosphere a packed home crowd can create.

But if the home fans wasn’t reason enough, Bournemouth should be intimidated by the squad they’re coming north to play.

Klopp has genuine quality across all positions, while the front three of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino are up there with the best in the league.

Across the back you have Alisson, Andy Robertson, Virgil van Dijk. Oh my goodness the list just keeps on getting longer.

But among all the quality, fans still have a part to play. So follow Lallana’s advice and make Anfield a place Bournemouth players can’t wait to leave.
