Liverpool have received a huge boost ahead of their Champions League clash with Bayern Munich next week after Arjen Robben left training with an injury.

Liverpool fans are still a little downcast after Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Everton sunk the Reds to second in the table. However they have a decent piece of news today after it emerged that Arjen Robben left the Bayern Munich training session with an injury.

The two sides are poised to meet next week in Germany in the second leg of the round of 16 knockout phase of the Champions League. The tie is carefully balanced after the 0-0 draw at Anfield.

The Bundesliga side struggled to create much with a number of their attackers missing and now it looks as if Dutch star Arjen Robben will miss out again.

Thomas Muller is still suspended while Franck Ribery has not yet fully recovered from the knock that kept him out of the first leg. Kingsley Coman is also injured while both first choice full backs are set to miss the game; David Alaba with injury and Joshua Kimmich through suspension.

The Reds will be confident of getting the victory with the slew of absentees. Not conceding an away goal in the first leg was crucial and now it looks like just one goal in Munich will be enough for Liverpool to qualify for the quarter finals of the Champions League for the second season in a row under Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool have been struggling to find the net themselves. They have drawn three blanks in the last four games. Though the 5-0 win over Watford shows that they can still find that extra level when things click.

Klopp is hoping to have both Joe Gomez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain available in the next few weeks to help the Reds with their Champions League push and to tip the title race in their favor.
