Jurgen Klopp is excited about what’s happening at Liverpool. Last season’s Champions League final appearance has been followed by a genuine title challenge in the Premier League this season. The manager is also pumped about the £50 million training complex being built at the Kirkby site.
Photos this week from LiverpoolFC.com has shown the progress of the development. The facility will house the first team and Under-23s beneath one roof.

Klopp said at the announcement:
“The Academy is important, especially here in Liverpool. I think we are all desperate to get young Scousers through because it’s nice. It’s a special club and if you are grown up in that area it already makes you a special person.”
It will be a special home for a special people:
“This is the first step in that direction. It will be great, just great. This kind of will be the headquarters of Scouse football, if you want. That’s really good and we’re looking forward to it.”
There has been no skimping on investment by Liverpool Football Club in recent years. There has been the improvements to the stands and facilities at Anfield (with more planned). On the pitch there has been the record purchases of Alisson Becker and Virgil van Dijk.
This steady influx of capital is reaping benefits. The record profits announced by the club last month will be crucial to help the manager keep pace with the financial doping employed by Man City and Chelsea in England and PSG in Europe.
It finally feels that we have a set up with the first team and with the infrastructure that is sufficient for club with Liverpool’s history of success.
