Liverpool are looking to pour more disappointment on Real Madrid by beating them to Brazilian teenage sensation Reinier Jesus in the transfer market.
There was no shortage of happiness from Liverpool fans who watched Real Madrid crash out of the Champions League on Tuesday night. Now the Reds are hoping to dig the knife in by beating Real to the transfer of teenage starlet Reinier Jesus.
The 17-year-old attacking midfielder plays for Flamengo in Brazil and is attracting attention from a host of top European clubs with Liverpool and Real Madrid joining PSG at the front of the cue. Other clubs linked to him have included Roma, Juventus and Manchester City.

Reinier Jesus is contracted at Flamengo until 2021 so he will not come cheaply. There is apparently a £60 million release clause in his contract but the Reds will be confident of getting him for much less.
Both Real and PSG are already out of the Champions League; failing to get to the quarter finals past Ajax and Manchester United respectively. Liverpool are hoping that they don’t fall to the same result as the still have to face Bayern Munich in Germany next week to progress in the competition.
Jurgen Klopp already has a strong Brazilian core at the club. Alisson Becker, Roberto Firmino and Fabinho are all first team regulars and major stars at Anfield.
The worry for Reinier is that trio were all developed at other clubs and arrived at Liverpool as established internationals.
The Brazilian Under-17 star may look to the story of Allen de Souza. He was another hot Brazilian talent that was signed as an 18-year-old but has struggled to qualify for a work permit. He is currently back in Brazil on sixth loan spell since joining in 2015.
It appears very unlikely that Allen will ever wear the Red shirt in a competitive fixture for the club. Hopefully the Liverpool hierarchy have learned some lessons from those decisions.
