This incredible stat from Andrew Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold shows exactly how Jurgen Klopp wants Liverpool to play.
We already know that full-back is a vital position for Klopp. We already know that he wants his left and right-backs to provide width in attack. We already know that the German wants them to be effective going forward and in defence.
It’s so important to Klopp that he allowed Nathaniel Clyne to leave the club because he could only do one of those two things.
But until you read this one stat about Robertson and Alexander-Arnold, the chances are you probably won’t realise how important they are to the side.

Anything Liverpool tweeted that the pair have 16 assists between them, which is staggering numbers from defenders. 14 of those have come in the Premier League, while Robbo has collected two in the Champions League.
No other player has more than the Scot, while Alexander-Arnold is only one below Mohamed Salah. Roberto Firmino, who is one of the more creative players in the side, has five while Sadio Mane has registered just one assist!
Liverpool are heavily reliant on their two flying youngsters to provide crosses into the box and stretch play out wide. Because Mane and Salah cut inside to shoot on their favored feet, they can’t be relied upon to be providers.
And that’s all okay, until one or both of them picks up an injury at the same time and Klopp has to rejig things. It’s so important that good back-up options are found in the summer, especially if James Milner leaves at the end of his is contract.
There’s been a few whispers that Milner will leave in the summer to join his boyhood team Leeds United. However, some reports have indicated that Milly’s deal only runs out in 2020, not 2019.
A new left-back will definitely need to be signed in the summer as Alberto Moreno will be offskie, but who knows what’ll happen on the other flank.
