Trent Alexander-Arnold thinks Liverpool would have lost to Fulham after Ryan Babel goal
Trent Alexander-Arnold thinks Liverpool would have lost to Fulham after Ryan Babel’s goal levelled scores on Sunday.
The Reds beat the Cottagers 2-1 thanks to goals from Sadio Mane and James Milner, but Alexander-Arnold thinks that two or three seasons ago they would have lost the game.
And that progression, said TAA, marks a new chapter for a team who are in the running to be crowned Premier League champions.
The official club website reported that the right-back admitted: “Conceding a late equaliser against Fulham was tough.” But the side dug deep, continued to press and were rewarded when Mane was fouled and Milner converted the penalty.

It would have hurt that Babel equalized because of mistakes from three senior players. Milner’s pass to Virgil van Dijk was poor, van Dijk’s header back to Alisson Becker underpowered and Alisson’s efforts to stop the shot weak.
It’s the type of game Liverpool would have blown under Brendan Rodgers or the early stages of Jurgen Klopp’s tenure, continued Alexander-Arnold: “A few years ago we would not have got the three points.”
The Reds have been guilty of letting pressure get to their play this season, though, and produced muted performances when a win would have given them loads of breathing space at the top of the league.
Draws against West Ham and Leicester hurt, but despite that Alexander-Arnold still believes his team have got what it takes to overtake Manchester City and win their first ever Premier League.
“We’re a force to be reckoned with,” boasted the 20-year-old, who will be the first choice option for Klopp as the manager plots a Champions League triumph as well.
The international break has halted the domestic campaign for now, but when Liverpool resume they face Tottenham Hotspur. That’s a game that won’t be easy, and one the Reds have lost in the past.
