Liverpool fans are urging manager Jurgen Klopp to make a transfer of a former Man Utd flop today in Dutch winger Memphis Depay.

There are very few players to have featured for both Liverpool and Manchester United, such is the fierce nature of the rivalry. However many Liverpool fans are encouraging boss Jurgen Klopp to sign a Man Utd failure; Dutch attacker Memphis Depay.

The 25-year-old winger has sen his career come back to life after his terrible time at Old Trafford. He was bought in the summer of 2015 as one of the biggest transfers of the Premier League that summer.

His countryman Louis van Gaal was manager at the time and gave him a good run in the first team. However he only bagged two league goals in the 2015-16 season, despite impressing in the Europa League.

The following year saw Jose Mourinho arrive and the Portuguese manager clearly didn’t like or trust him and made an example of him by excluding him from the first team. He was promptly sold in the 2017 January transfer window to Lyon.

Since arriving in France he has found his rhythm again, grabbing 22 goals in all competitions last season with eight to his name this term.

It was his goal scoring display yesterday for Holland against Germany that has reminded many Liverpool fans of his talent. Kopites were watching the game to check on Virgil van Dijk and Gini Wijnaldum but were taken by Depay’s performance.

Michael Owen was the last player to feature for both clubs and Paul Ince did it in the 90’s. Being a flop at Old Trafford, rather than a Man Utd favorite, would help him find acceptance at Anfield.
