Liverpool fans are howling at the latest transfer rumour that has linked midfielder Naby Keita with a £40 million move away from Anfield.
Team Talk has reported that the Reds are ready to cut their losses and sell Keita back to Germany for a loss.
The former RB Leipzig barrel arrived on Merseyside this summer and has been in and out of Jurgen Klopp’s side as Keita’s form has fluctuated.
Initially the Guinea international adjusted to life in the Premier League better than Fabinho, but the Brazilian has since become a vital part of the team while Keita remains a rotation option.

Ronan Murphy, a journalist for Goal, tweeted out the news and was greeted with mirth and great scepticism in his mentions.
Klopp doesn’t make it a habit to cut and run on players, especially ones that clearly have talent. If Borussia Dortmund or Bayern Munich want Keita, as the report suggested, they’ll have to make sure they make Liverpool a transfer offer they can’t refuse.
We’ve seen it time and again that the German likes to take his time introducing players into the first team. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Andrew Robertson both got the same treatment and responded excellently, so hold your horses.
Keita has played just 34% of the available minutes this season in the top flight and has made four Champions League appearances, one in the FA Cup and one in the League Cup.
He has no goals and just one assist to his name, the 24-year-old is down from his levels during last season’s Bundesliga campaign for Leipzig. Keita scored six goals and grabbed five assists as he established himself as one of the best midfielders in the competition.
Klopp will be keen to bring those levels out of the Guinea international and you can be sure he won’t be selling for a cut price deal this summer.
