Liverpool are lining up a transfer deal to sell Dejan Lovren to a top Serie A side this summer according to the latest reports.

The summer transfer window is beginning to take shape for Liverpool Football Club. While there are still huge questions about who will come in, the departures list is growing. The latest deal to emerge is for Dejan Lovren to move to Italy.

According to the Mirror, three huge Serie A sides are all interested in the Croatian defender. It looks like he will have his pick of Roma, AC Milan and Napoli this summer.

Two of those sides are planning on Lovren replacing their top center backs who are expected to leave in the next transfer window; Kostas Manolas will likely leave Roma and Kalidou Koulibaly should depart Napoli.

Perhaps Liverpool could do a deal for Koulibaly that includes Lovren as part of the deal. That sems like a deal that would delight Sadio Mane but be a downer for Mohamed Salah!

The 29-year-old defender featured for Croatia in the side that beat England in the semi-finals of the World Cup and picked up a runners-up medal in the final.

It is clear he has fallen behind both Joe Gomez and Joel Matip in the pecking order for Jurgen Klopp and could be keen to seek regular football outside of the Premier League. Serie A would be an ideal place for him to see out the prime of his career.

Lovren would join Alberto Moreno and Daniel Sturridge as high-profile Reds leaving Anfield this summer. That pair are out of contract in June and will leave as free transfers. Simon Mignolet and Divock Origi are also slated to be sold.

That will clear out almost all of the remaining Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool signings. The only players left to be signed by Rodgers left at the club will be Roberto Firmino, James Milner and Joe Gomez. All three were signed in the summer of 2015 and only made a handful of appearances before the Ulsterman was fired.
