Liverpool journalist James Pearce has suffered Twitter annihilation at the hands of his son and a reporter from the Mirror.

An account followed up a new meme trend and delivered  a devastating bunch of photos about the Reds’ writer, which David Maddock from the Mirror then jumped all over.

First, they got Pearce’s age wrong – before Maddock continued the abuse.

The Liverpool Echo man has endeared himself to the Reds fanbase for a long time now, and was even happy to do a Reddit AMA a little while back.

He’s a good lad, but this was hilarious from the joint forces of Twitter.

In other news, Liverpool Academy goalkeeper Kamil Grabara has had an absolute shocker for his loan side in Denmark.

Aarhus were playing in their end of season play-ofs against minnows Vejle Boldklub when Grabara let a weak shot in through his legs and hit a clearance straight to a Vejle attacker – which directly resulted in a goal.

He only joined Aarhus in January and has played seven games for them so far: six in the regular season and one in the play-offs. Before those two big mistakes he’d only conceded nine and it appeared as if he’d made an excellent start to his senior career.

In the latest transfer news, it’s been reported that Liverpool have made a bid for a Benfica youngster – but we don’t know which one it is yet.

Jurgen Klopp could be putting in a bid for Alex Grimaldo, Ruben Dias, João Félix or Gedson Fernandes – so really anything could happen. Liverpool have also confirmed the signing of young goalkeeper Ben Winterbottom from Blackburn Rovers.

17-year-old Winterbottom had been on trial with the U18 side and clearly did enough to convince Academy bosses to make the move permanent. We wish the young lad the best of luck!
