Liverpool may struggle to sign a forward this summer but not because they are not an appealing destination but because their forwards are too good! Thorgan Hazard is poised to reject a transfer to Anfield to get more playing time elsewhere.
The Belgian press are reporting that Liverpool have out bid Borussia Dortmund for the Borussia Mönchengladbach attacker. A fee of over £40 million has been quoted but it looks like the Belgian international will pick Dortmund instead.

Hazard – younger brother of Chelsea forward Eden – is looking at the front three of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino and wondering how he will get significant game time. And he has a point.
There are very few players in the world that can supplant one of Jurgen Klopp’s attacking trio. Lionel Messi obviously, but after that only Neymar and Kylian Mbappe wold make strong claims to be better than what the Reds already have.
It is a nice problem to have but might make it difficult to find an excellent forward to supplement the group in the summer transfer window.
That might be one of the reasons why the club are warming to the idea of re-signing Divock Origi to a longer contract.
If Hazard heads to Dortmund and Timo Werner ends up at Bayern Munich then Klopp may just put all his faith in Origi and Rhian Brewster next season. He will also have Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain available who can operate on the wing.
A month or so ago it looked like Liverpool would sign a forward and make-do at left back but now that has reversed with the Reds looking at two possible left backs this summer.
