Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea: Alan Partridge commentary makes Mohamed Salah goal even better
Liverpool beat Chelsea 2-0 in the Premier League on Sunday and commentary by Alan Partridge makes the Mohamed Salah goal even better!
Salah scored one of the goals of the season against his former side to help the Reds win 2-0 at Anfield, in a result that may spur the team to win the title.
Mo had been struggling to find the back of the net, but his brilliant counter-attacking strike helped Liverpool overcome a dogged Southampton before the Champions League break.
And against Chelsea the Egyptian hit his second in a row to really kill the encounter off. As Partridge would say, ‘he’s got a foot like a traction engine’.

If you know your Alan, you’ll know that any worldie goal is worth listening to with his iconic voice over the top. And if you don’t know, get to know. So do yourself a favour, follow this link and give it a view in all its glory.
With four games left in the league season, Salah can still grab a bag and finish at the Golden Boot winner. When you think about it, that’s an awesome achievement given that weird barren run in the middle of the season.
Liverpool thrive when the former Roma man does well, but we’ve got the strength in depth to cope when things aren’t always going his way. We’ve seen Sadio Mane stand up and be counted recently, as well as Roberto Firmino.
If Jurgen Klopp recruits well in the off-season, the Reds will have hardly any holes in their squad and will be well placed for another crack at the Premier League.
There have been plenty of names linked recently, including Timo Werner (again). Whoever comes in will probably have to play second fiddle to a man who scores wordlies.
A tough thing to ask? Maybe, but that’s just how it goes.
