Liverpool fans are clinging to the latest injury news about Kevin de Bruyne as hope that Man City could drop points in their upcoming Premier League games.

Liverpool Football Club have already had their best Premier League season and there are still three games to play. However their title chances are dependent on Man City dropping points in their remaining games and the latest Kevin de Bruyne injury news gives Reds a little hope that they may happen.

The Belgian left City’s win against Tottenham Hotspur early with a hamstring problem which has been confirmed to keep him out for at least two weeks – covering at least three of their remaining four Premier League fixtures. He could return for the FA Cup final next month.

City have to play Man Utd tomorrow night; Burnley at the weekend; Leicester City and then finish against Brighton. On paper it is not a straight forward run in but circumstances have made things favorable for them.

United are in terrible form and look abject after their 4-0 defeat to Everton on Sunday. Burnley and Leicester are both tricky sides, able to take points from top teams but both are safe from relegation and cruising to the summer break.

Brighton & Hove Albion still need to secure Premier League football next season and so they could potentially need points on the last day of the season to stay up.

Losing Kevin de Bruyne is not a hammer blow for City despite being their best player. They have functioned well without him for most of the season. But his absence will put more strain on the midfielders who are more tired.
