Liverpool winger Ryan Kent has been nominated for two Scottish Premiership Player-of-the-Year awards while on-loan at Glasgow Rangers.

Liverpool have already had success in the Player-of-the-Year awards in England after Virgil van Dijk was named PFA winner this year. Now Ryan Kent is looking to add a couple of awards to his trophy cabinet after being nominated as Player-of-the-Year and Young Player-of-the-Year in Scotland.

The 22-year-old winger is on-loan at Glasgow Rangers and has wowed watchers of the Scottish Premiership this season. His six goals have not been the most impressive haul but his overall performances have been excellent and he is a constant threat for Steven Gerrard‘s side.

The former Liverpool captain would love to sign Kent on a permanent deal this summer but the £8 million price tag could be too much. These end-of-season awards will only cement Liverpool’s strong stance in the transfer market and there is bound to be interest from Championship sides and newly promoted teams.

The player has made it known that he wants to settle down and spend an extended period of time at one club. He has spent the last four seasons out on loan and wants to find a place he can establish himself and progress.

Many would love to see him come back to Anfield to challenge for a place in Jurgen Klopp’s squad next season. However, at his age and with so many players in front of him it would not be wise for his career, or good business by Liverpool, to let him linger on the sidelines as he struggles to make a match day squad for a whole year.

Liverpool are likely to sell Kent while his stock is high and give Klopp the money to reinforce his squad in the transfer market.
