Gini Wijnaldum scored twice to help Liverpool beat Barcelona in the Champions League and you can relive the moment he vanquished three defenders at once.

Wijnaldum only come on for the Reds after Andy Robertson went off injured, but still delivered a performance for the ages as Liverpool hit four past Barca without reply.

Even though the Dutch international struck twice, once with a towering header and once with a late run into the box and a good finish, that wasn’t the sum of his performance.

Wijnaldum is good going forward – it’s where he initially made his reputation – and the former Newcastle man really showed that in the Champions League.

And this one moment, where he vanquished three Barcelona defenders trying to tag him, shows his strength and dribbling ability. Scroll down to the end of the article to watch the short clip in all its glory!

Basically Wijnaldum picked the ball up with his back to goal and a man pressuring him from behind. Gini then ran back towards his own goal, where he picked up the attention of two more defenders while trying to hold off the first.

But then Wijnaldum changed the direction of play quick as a flash as he pulled the ball back towards the Barca net and out the other side before accelerating away from his markers like a giant swatting away a possum.

It was a beautiful moment in a game full of beautiful moments, but it really serves to illustrate that Gini is more than just a hard worker and an intelligent user of the ball.

His movement in the final third is excellent, those late runs into the box sublime and his finishing under pressure top notch. Yes Jurgen Klopp plays him as a six but in reality he could be a 10.
