Disgusting Man City players are caught on video singing and laughing about the brutal attack on Liverpool fan Sean Cox that left him in a coma.
*This article was originally called “Disgusting Man City fans laugh at Liverpool fan Sean Cox” but on insistence from City fans it is not about that, we’ve made it more accurate to reflect the general violence advocated towards Liverpool fans not Sean Cox by name, even though that happened only a month after his attack.
There is plenty of banter and teasing in football between rival teams and fans but Man City players crossed a line this weekend. They have been caught on video singing and laughing about violence towards Liverpool supporters in the wake of the attack on Liverpool fan Sean Cox.
Cox suffered the brutal attack outside Anfield last year on the evening of Liverpool’s Champions League first leg semi-final against Roma. He was initially left in a coma before making some recovery but will probably never live independently again.

The video of the Man City players is from their coach after winning the Premier League title on Sunday. The Premier League trophy is in sight and you can hear the singing the Man City fans version of “Allez, Allez, Allez”.
Their adapted lyrics refer to Liverpool fans being “battered in the streets” – a clear reference to the Cox incident.
This is utterly unacceptable and we demand an immediate apology from club and players plus a sizable donation to the Sean Cox fund.
The two clubs have just finished an epic Premier League battle and we believed there was nothing but respect between the two sides.
The most generous reading of this story is that those players didn’t know what they were singing about. If so then that apology needs to be swift and unequivocal. You can watch the incident in this tweet:

Man City have responded by saying their players didn’t do this.
