Liverpool fan are already keen for next season because they can’t wait to see Rhian Brewster take to the field as promised.

Jurgen Klopp is pretty keen on Brewster, we know this much. Klopp has already said that the Reds’ starlet is ready to come in to the first team – and what was against Barcelona.

A BBC journalist has claimed that Klopp and Liverpool won’t spend big in the summer and that’s partly to do with Brewster as well. Why spend big when it’ll block the path of a promising forward in the squad?

Plus Divock Origi is due a new contract and will probably play some role as a versatile back-up to the entire front front. With Xherdan Shaqiri and then Brewster in the squad that doesn’t leave a whole lotta room for a signing.

At this stage of the campaign it’s natural to start looking forward. Fans will be letting those little butterflies flap around in their stomach, the excitement grow and the ‘what if’ game to run around their heads like Mo Salah bearing down on goal.

Part of that is thinking about the future and the role Brewster will play in it. He’s unlikely to go out on loan, so a slow introduction into the first team via substitute appearances and cup fixtures seems to be likely.

But that’s exciting too, because all of a sudden he does well in those and there’s one injury and another Anfield Academy lad is running out alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold and the future looks even brighter.

Add to the mix the fact that Adam Lewis could earn his place as Andy Robertson’s back up and things start to get very good indeed.

Next. Four relegated players Jurgen Klopp should sign. dark

But first we have a Champions League to win, and then we can dream of future success and future stars of Merseyside.
