Liverpool have been installed as massive Champions League favorites over Premier League rivals Spurs to lift the trophy in Madrid on June 1st.

Liverpool Football Club are the unanimous favorite with bookies to beat Spurs and win the Champions League in two weeks time.

Last year’s finalists are the odds on favorites at 1/2 on most bookies websites. Some have Spurs 13/8 while one site has them at 18/5. The money is clearly flowing in one direction.

There is good reason for the Reds to be leading the way. Despite both teams needing dramatic comebacks in their semi-final ties, Liverpool had to overcome the might of Barcelona and the best player of all time – Lionel Messi.

Spurs’ comeback was also impressive but being 3-0 down to Ajax with less than a half left their win is being equally attributed to the Dutch side flagging and their young team losing concentration.

Obviously Liverpool are vying for their sixth title and this is their fourth final in the last 14 years. Spurs on the other hand are hugely inexperienced at this level of the competition.

The Premier League table is also informing the bookies heavy backing of Liverpool. The Reds lost just one league all season – to Man City by the thinnest of margins.

However, Spurs racked up 13 losses in the league, many coming in the second half of the season after their title challenge fell spectacularly and their qualification of next season’s Champions League became questionable.

They managed to sneak fourth place by one point over Arsenal but that has more to do with the woeful form of the Gunners and Manchester United than any genuine strength from Tottenham.

The North Londoners will have time to get healthy and will likely only be missing Harry Winks from their squad with Harry Kane on course to make a recovery. It is almost a guarantee the Englishman can play if he able to run at all.
