€110 million price tag rules Liverpool out of forward transfer chase
By David Gate
Liverpool will not pursue Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha after they list their asking price as over €110 million in this transfer window.
It is likely that Liverpool will look to add another forward to their squad in this transfer window but that won’t be Wilfried Zaha after Crystal Palace have slapped a €110 million price tag on the forward.
Zaha is widely considered to be one of the best players outside the top six in the Premier League. However there is no way he is at the level to be the most expensive player in English history.

Only Liverpool have sold a player for more money when they moved Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona for a £140 million deal in January 2018.
Whenever the Ivory Coast forward is playing well there are numerous Liverpool fans who cry out for the club to sign him. He has impressed at times when facing the Reds. He gave Trent Alexander-Arnold one of his hardest games of the season earlier in the year.
He is clearly talented and approaching his peak but that fee seems astronomical. It is hard to think of a team that would be willing to spend that much on him.
Tottenham Hotspur have been the leading candidate for his signature but there is no way they could afford that. Arsenal are equally unable to pay out those kinds of fees. Chelsea are far more shrewd than that and Man City don’t need him.
Manchester United are the only Premier League side with the money and they stupidity but they won’t make a bid even though they desperately need improvements to their wide positions.
Zaha played for United in 2013 after Alex Ferguson secured his signature before retiring. David Moyes could not get any form from him during the Scotsman’s comedy 10 months in charge at Old Trafford. I’m sure both parties would not be keen on a return move.
