It has been a busy weekend for Liverpool transfer rumors and there has been plenty in the news regarding Matthijs de Ligt, Kylian Mbappe and Ryan Fraser.

Liverpool have not finished for the season but the transfer market is already in full swing after the end of the domestic competitions. Three rumors have been swirling round the papers this weekend regarding Kylian Mbappe, Ryan Fraser and Matthijs de Ligt.

Social media was set abuzz yesterday as Spanish journalist Guillem Balague seemed to suggest that Liverpool were in talks with Ajax for signing of de Ligt. The Eredivisie champions are poised to cash in on their 19-year-old captain and three clubs are apparently in the running.

The Reds were thought to be one of those alongside Barcelona and one of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, PSG or Man City according to which rumors you believe. However James Pearce of the Liverpool ECHO came out today and said the club are not is discussions with Ajax and he is not a target they are pursuing.

This makes sense after the outstanding seasons of Joe Gomez and Joel Matip plus the inevitable bidding war to nail his signature.

The other huge rumor of the weekend comes from Kylian Mbappe hinting at an exit from PSG. Most would guess he is out of the Reds’ price range for transfer fee and wages. However the Express are listing Anfield as a possible destination.

The only way I could see this one happening is if the club got £100 million+ boost from transfer sales. They would have to ship out over half a dozen players to generate that and that won’t be done quickly. The other option would be to sell a star like Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane but I can’t see that happening.

Finally a more “realistic” rumor is that Liverpool could be in the market for Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser. The 25-year-old had an impressive year for The Cherries, racking up 14 assists. He only has one year left on his contract and would command a reduced fee this summer.

My guess is Fraser could be a secondary option if we head deep into the transfer window with no luck on the prime targets. I could see him thriving under Jurgen Klopp and the deal could be clinched with a £15 million transfer fee plus Nathaniel Clyne or something similar
