Agent Bobby! Liverpool fans hoping Firmino convinces Brazilian of Anfield move
By David Gate
Liverpool fans are putting their hope in Roberto Firmino convincing his international colleague David Neres of a transfer move from Ajax to Anfield this summer.
David Neres of Ajax has been linked to a transfer to Liverpool this summer and fans are hoping Roberto Firmino can convince him to join Jurgen Klopp’s revolution at Anfield this summer.
Neres has risen to become one of the most highly sorted young forwards this year after his exploits for Ajaz as they claimed the Eredivisie title and progressed to the Champions League semi-final, missing out on facing the Reds in the final by 30 seconds.

The 22-year-old Brazilian has 12 goals and 10 assists this season and has been a crucial part of his club’s success and a break out star for the Dutch side. That led to him receiving his first national call up in March where he won his first cap.
He was recently named in Brazil’s 23-man squad for the 2019 Copa America which begins on Friday June 14th in his home country.
That will give Roberto Firmino almost a month with him to convince him to move to Anfield. We saw last summer how persuasive he can be as he helped persuade both Fabinho and Alisson Becker to join the Liverpool movement.
Neres could be a perfect addition for the Reds. He is young but loaded with talent and would develop significantly under Klopp’s tutelage.
He has the positional flexibility the club are looking for as he can operate easily on both wings or in a ‘number 10’ creative role.
Crucially he has not been a guaranteed starter for Ajax this season. Liverpool need a player who can initially come in as an impact substitution or rotation for the front three. That has made finding a fourth top-level forward tricky and has put off players like Julian Brandt and Timo Werner who are used to playing every week.
David Neres will likely cost £40 million which is well within Klopp’s budget and a decent price for a player who could become a world star in the next few years.
