Liverpool vs Tottenham Champions League final: Lovren ffs! Fans react to first training video
Liverpool fans have reacted with mirth at Dejan Lovren’s performance during their first training ahead of the Champions League final against Tottenham.
The Reds were caught on the club’s official video going through some bits and bobs as they touched down in Spain ahead of the Madrid final on the 1st of June.
One of the drills included a rondo-ish segment, which arranged a bunch of players into a circle while two stood in the middle and competed for the ball.
At the start of the clip, just after Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain wanders about squirting water out of his bottle for no real reason, Lovren comes in with a flying header to try and intercept the ball and completely misses.

If anyone has seen footage of those weird flying bat/possum things, take the idea of that motion and apply it to this big Croatian – who launched himself towards the ball with a passion that’s hard to criticise.
Lovren hasn’t always had it easy playing for Liverpool and the World Cup finalist is probably going to miss out on a place in the Champions League final starting side – something that’s tough to bare for any professional.
With Joe Gomez and Joel Matip fit and ready to go, you’d imagine Degs will slip back down the pecking order once again. Matip may even be selected on the bench, which would be tough for the former Cameroon international as he’s been in good form.
It was good to see Oxlade-Chamberlain messing around with Lovren and the rest, and Liverpool are in a good position going in to the Champions League final as they have nearly a full squad to call upon.
Roberto Firmino missed the last three games with a niggle, but he’s training again and Reds fans from all over have grins like Cheshire cats on them.
