Liverpool fans are delighted with the latest transfer news that has seen the Memphis Depay deal fall through due to lack of interest from Anfield.
The Reds were linked with a move for Depay earlier in the week, but now Sky Sports have poured cold water over that speculation – much to the relief of fans.
After a failed move to Manchester United in 2015, the Dutch international has rebuilt his reputation in Ligue One with Lyon.
Depay scored 39 goals in 115 appearances for the French side as he helped them secure Champions League qualification two years in a row.

After rising to prominence with PSV Eindhoven, for whom the 25-year-old scored 50 goals and assisted 29 times in 124 appearances, Depay secured a move to Old Trafford for £30.60 million. Two years later he was booted away for half the price.
Liverpool have been linked with additional attackers for the past couple of transfer windows. Nabil Fekir is the longest running link, while this Depay move has sorta emerged out of the blue.
Hakim Ziyech has also been mentioned in the same breath as the Reds, and it appears as if the Ajax star is going to be out the door this summer.
After Sky Sports said Depay wouldn’t be joining Liverpool this summer, there was a collective sigh of relief on Merseyside.
Perhaps fans remember his ill-fated stint in the Premier League with Manchester United, or the stories about his bad attitude, or just don’t feel that the squad need another high wage forward to cover for Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah.
Whether the 25-year-old is joining Liverpool or not probably won’t be decided until the Champions League final is concluded on the 1st of June.
The Reds take on Tottenham in a huge end-of-season clash, and you can be sure that Jurgen Klopp is fully focused on that before turning his attention to new recruits.
