Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk is feeling thirsty after tasting Champions League success this season and doing good things with the Netherlands.

The Reds star lifted the ultimate prize at the start of June and then went on to reach the final of the Nations League competition with his national side.

Van Dijk wasn’t able to be part of the winning side on that occasion as a young Netherlands team went down 1-0 to Portugal, but you can be sure the Dutch will be back better and stronger than ever in the next few years.

On a domestic front, things are looking up for Liverpool and their colossal central defender. Despite conceding just 22 times in the Premier League, Manchester City tipped the Reds to the title by just one point.

Van Dijk is hungry for that to change.

In an Instagram post that the official club website reported on, van Dijk said he was ‘proud’ to be part of such an ‘incredible club with this group of players.’

You can be sure that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp won’t allow the side to rest on their laurels and VVD is going to be a big part of that push to make sure the team is as good as they can possibly be.

The whole squad will need to be even better if they are to match the winning machine that Pep Guardiola has assembled at Manchester City, and van Dijk will be driving that on the pitch.

“We are all now hungry for more success and will continue to give all we can to achieve that,” the former Southampton man added.

After playing 50 games over the course of the season, Liverpool need the Dutchman to have a decent rest before returning to the game again.
