Betting odds tumble on Adrien Rabiot to Liverpool transfer
By David Gate
Betting odds for PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot to join Liverpool in this transfer window have tumbled in the last few days.
The long running saga about where Adrien Rabiot will end up in the summer transfer window could be coming to a conclusion with Liverpool surprisingly moving into second favorites to sign the French midfielder.
The Reds were thought to be out of the running just a week or so ago after it was revealed that Rabiot was deep in talks with Juventus about a move. But the bookies now have Liverpool closing in on front-runners Arsenal. The Reds are now 6/1 with BetVictor after being as much as 16/1 with Paddy Power a few days ago.

However nothing has materialized with the Serie A giants and the player could be put off by the fact they have only recently signed Aaron Ramsey on a free transfer from Arsenal to bolster their midfield.
Rabiot himself is available on a free transfer at the end of the month and Liverpool were one of the initial favorites to sign him a year ago before Barcelona became the likely destination. But the signing of Frenkie de Jong appears to have ended interest from the Nou Camp.
The player was sidelined for the second half of the season due to the speculation surrounding his future and he is finding his options narrowing. The two clubs most desperate to sign him and willing to meet his wage demands are Arsenal and Manchester United. However neither side are in the Champions League and both are less than appealing scenarios for the playmaker.
His love for Anfield and the Liverpool fans is well stated and many believe he would choose Barcelona or Liverpool given a preference. If the Reds are hesitant to spend big on an already stacked midfield they could see Rabiot as cheap option to bolster the squad ahead of busy season.
