Crystal Palace want Reds man to replace £55m star
Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne could be the subject of a transfer bid from Crystal Palace as they look to replace £55 million star Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The Reds allowed Clyne to leave on loan to Bournemouth during the second half of last season as he wasn’t getting any first team football – and now Football Insider have reported that the right-back’s time on Anfield could be coming to a permanent end.
According to the website, the 28-year-old has told his pals that he wants to re-join Palace, for whom he played 137 games before leaving for Southampton for a £2.88 million fee in 2012.
Clyne featured over 100 times for the Saints before Liverpool pulled their oldest trick in the book: signing one of the south coast outfit’s top players, which they did in 2015.

Exactly 103 games later, the England international found himself way down the pecking order at Anfield due to the fact that he’s not a fine enough attacking outlet.
But Palace don’t mind, and intend to replace the outgoing Wan-Bissaka – if his massive, £55 million move to Manchester United is completed.
Clyne is still good enough to be playing football at a Premier League level for the next few years, and this’ll give him the chance to go back to the side who helped mould him as a professional football and give his final years to the Eagles.
There are few good stories in the professional game these days, but a Clyne to Palace move would definitely be one of them. The only downside for Eagles fans would be the loss of Wan-Bissaka, who has had a spectacular year of football.
The England U21 international has emerged from the Palace Academy as one of the finest young right-backs in the league – with probably only Trent Alexander-Arnold as his peer among the top flight.
Make sure to keep an eye on this deal as if has a few moving parts.
