Liverpool have been quiet on the transfer front this summer but are currently the huge bookie favorites to grab Man Utd flop Memphis Depay.
It has been a subdued few days for Liverpool transfer news as reports are emerging that the Reds may not do much business this summer. However the bookies are not yet in agreement, placing the club as huge favorites to snap up former Man Utd player Memphis Depay.
The Dutch star has resurrected his career at Lyon after a nightmare spell at Old Trafford. Brought in by Louis van Gaal in 2015 he stuttered in his first season before falling foul of Jose Mourinho’s whims in 2016/17.

Since moving to Ligue 1 he has shown the form that convinced Manchester United to buy him in the first place. He grabbed 22 goals in his first season at Lyon while nabbing 15 goals and 14 assists last season.
The bookies have him at 8/11 odds to move to Anfield. He is currently the most likely player with the bookmakers to join Jurgen Klopp’s side this summer. Wolverhampton Wanderers are the next likely, way out at 10/1 to sign him.
His strong relationships with countrymen Gini Wijnaldum and Virgil van Dijk has fueled the speculation but it is his versatility and scheme fit that really makes this transfer a possibility.
Depay has featured on both wings during his career but became the default central attacker last season for Lyon. That means he has the flexibility and experience to cover for Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah or Roberto Firmino if necessary.
The 25-year-old is also just hitting his peak and could benefit from a boost like Salah had when he joined Anfield at the same age two summers ago.
I think Memphis Depay would be a perfect inclusion to the squad and would not worry at all about his time in Manchester. I hope the bookies have this one right.
