Why the European mega rich look at Liverpool with envy
A Liverpool insider has revealed the factor that makes the European mega rich and elite look over at the red half of Merseyside with envy.
New ESPN journalist Melissa Reddy has penned a new piece about how the Reds got themselves in the position to lift the Champions League for the sixth time in their history.
There was loads of interesting stuff within the story – as there always is when Reddy writes something – but one moment stuck out.
And it was when an unnamed source from Liverpool spoke about how the other massive sides from the top five leagues view the Reds, and especially the stability within the club.

Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Manchester United have all had to spend a lot of money to restructure their squad, explained Reddy, and this leads to the side lacking in the unified direction and sense of purpose that the Reds have.
Jurgen Klopp has been able to form a real team, and has tied the key earners down to long-term contracts while being able to attract new players from other sides around Europe for a competitive price.
“Those clubs would happily trade places with Liverpool,” said the source. If you look around the world there are big players who aren’t happy. Two of the biggest are Neymar and Paul Pogba – both massive earners agitating for a move to the small cadre of sides who could afford them.
But none of that unsettling is happening within Anfield, and that’s a huge bonus. “We have stability at a time when so much is left up in the air around Europe,” continued the insider.
All of this jostling within the market causes the ‘landscape to become volatile’ – an unhealthy position to be in when you’re buying or selling.
That has passed Liverpool by, which is increasingly stable under the leadership of Klopp and the hard work of those in charge of transfers. This can only lead to future success. Long may it continue.
