Radio silence shows Ki-Jana Hoever trust
The lack of transfer news surrounding the right-back position shows that Jurgen Klopp is placing a tremendous amount of trust in Ki-Jana Hoever.
The Reds are expected to sell Nathaniel Clyne during the summer, reported Football London, but there’s been no talking about signing a replacement for the defender.
This is a stark contrast to the speculated identity of the next back-up for left-back Andy Robertson, and it could mean one thing.
Jurgen Klopp is clearly happy with his options should Trent Alexander-Arnold pick up an injury. James Milner has played at right-back before, Joe Gomez could fill in and then there’s the latest highly rated lad fresh from the Academy.

Step forward Hoever.
The 17-year-old played 84 minutes against Wolves in the FA Cup last season and will be around the first team squad for the Premier League campaign as well.
Hoever was tasked with marking Mohamed Salah during his first training session with the senior squad and handled the Egyptian King remarkably well, according to reports.
After that Wolves game the Dutch youngster was sent back to play with the U23s because he’s not physically ready yet to tussle with the big fellas, but this campaign he’ll be older, more experienced and will have spent longer working on those issues.
It’s telling that all the talk has been around signing a left-back. Junior Firpo has been linked and he’s an expensive option who doesn’t play on the right either.
Rafa Camacho has been sold, who was another option for that position. Hoever is clearly highly rated, has already made his first team debut and is playing under a manager who is happy to give youth a chance.
The radio silence surrounding possible deals for an Alexander-Arnold understudy have got to be seen as proof that Klopp is going to trust Hoever a great deal in the coming months.
