Liverpool star Fabinho has given a fascinating inside scoop on his debut season with the Reds to a Brazilian radio station.

The Reds signed the 25-year-old from AS Monaco around this time last year and despite a rocky start to his Anfield career, Fab become a key member of the side that lifted the Champions League trophy.

Fabinho ended up making 41 appearances across all competitions for Liverpool, but there was a time when it seemed like the converted right-back wouldn’t have the impact we all anticipated he would.

A Reddit user has translate the interview Fab did with Globoesporte in Portuguese. If you want to listen to the original, you can by following this link. To read the transcript on Reddit, follow this one.

One of the most revealing parts of what he said highlight the excellent atmosphere within the squad. Fabinho says that he was constantly being reminded that Jurgen Klopp always takes his time when introducing new signings into the first team – with Andy Robertson being used as the main example.

The Brazilian also mentioned that James Milner and Jordan Henderson were constantly discussing tactics with Fabinho, even though they’re in competition for the same role in the side. This is another factor that shows how close everyone is to each other in the changing room.

We all know of Virgil van Dijk as an absolute monster on the field, but he’s also one of the team jokesters and is a great guy to be around – except when he yells VIRGIL when going for a ball in the box, which is a surefire way to know when to scatter and get out of his way!

Other great bits are when Fabinho says Mohamed Salah is his best self around Dejan Lovren, which pretty much confirms the worst kept secret in football bromances.

Salah is generally quiet, added Fab, but always pushes him to improve his English by speaking it around the rest of the squad.

There’s honestly loads of interesting bits, so make sure you click through and see it all.
